The Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, Štefan Füle, will participate at an event in Pristina tonight to mark the end of the supervised independence of Kosovo. He will deliver a key note speech at the dinner stressing the support of the European Commission for Kosovo´s European future and underlining the need to continue with EU-related reforms.

Commissioner Füle will speak about the engagement of the European Commission with Kosovo, where there has been considerable progress in several areas over the past few months: the Commission launched the visa dialogue with Kosovo in January, the Structured Dialogue on the Rule of Law was started in Brussels in May, and the three cycles of the Stabilisation and Association Process Dialogue were completed in July. Currently the Commission is finalising the work on the Feasibility Study for a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with Kosovo, which will be presented this autumn.

Tonight in Pristina, Commissioner Füle will address the leaders of Kosovo calling on them to maintain the consensus on pressing ahead with the necessary reforms, to engage constructively with Serbia and to reach out to all communities in Kosovo.
