Planning on studying a semester in another European country? Or simply thinking about your next holidays? When does the academic year start in Latvia? When does it end in Austria? When do students go on autumn holidays in Germany? 2012/13 school and academic calendars in Europe can help!

The Eurydice network, which provides information on and analysis of education systems and policies in Europe, has just published the school and academic calendars of the 27 EU i Member States, Croatia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey for 2012/13.

These annual calendars are available in English and provide information for students and academics who want to go abroad, for families planning their next vacation as well as for everyone participating in European projects in the field of education.

The school calendar contains data on the length of the school year in each country, the start and the end of each school year, and the timing and length of school holidays. It covers both primary and secondary education.

The academic calendar shows how the academic year is structured (beginning of the year, term times, holidays and examinations periods). Variations depending on the type of study programme (university or non-university) are also indicated.
