Griekenland ontslaat 40.000 ambtenaren (en)

Some 40,000 Greek public servants will be put in a layoff pool with a 60 percent pay cut, according to media reports. The lay off was part of Athens bailout deals already last year, but has not materialised since Greek civil servants are protected against being sacked by the constitution.
