"Multilingualism is essential to go further on European integration": this is one of the conclusions of the Platform's latest general assembly.

The members of the Civil Society Platform for the promotion of multilingualism met on 29 June 2012 to discuss future developments in multilingualism policies and the role the Platform can play in such a context. The Platform will continue to promote multilingualism within the European Union in line with the new challenges and priorities of the EU, in particular the new Erasmus i for All programme.

The Civil Society Platform was created in 2009 and is a forum for the exchange of best practices for non-governmental organisations in the fields of culture, media, non-formal and informal education.
