Merkel vergelijkt Oekraïne met Wit-Rusland (en)

German Chancellor Merkel compared the Ukraine to Belarus on Thursday, citing Kiev's treatment and persecution of former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko. The chancellor said people in both countries are living under repression and a dictatorship, reported the Associated Press. A foreign ministry spokesperson would not comment on Merkel's comparison.
