Miklós Réthelyi, Minister of National Resources of Hungary, visited the Janus Pannonius High School in Pécs in the context of the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations.

This was the high school the Minister attended as a young man, and therefore it was a visit that carried a lot of meaning both personally and in terms of commitment with the EY2012 objectives.

During the visit, the Minister engaged in an open conversation with a class of 16 years old students, and spoke to them about the meaning of old age. He also went into what specific actions can young people undertake in order to build a better future, both for senior citizens and for youth. "Small changes can bring about significant improvements in the quality of life of seniors", he declared. The Minister also discussed the importance of sharing the past, and what young people can learn from previous generations: "Take advantage of the opportunity to get to know witnesses of such historic times".

More visits will be taking place within the frame of the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations.
