Serbian President Boris Tadic is stepping down ahead of presidential and parliamentary elections on 6 May, reports DPA. The move is thought to be tactical, aimed at boosting the polling chances of the ruling Democratic Party, which Tadic heads. The presidency term was due to run until end 2012.
