Voorzitter Europees Parlement feliciteert nieuwe president Finland Sauli Niinisto (en)

The President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz has congratulated the new President of Finland Sauli Niinisto and made the following statement:

"President Sauli Niinisto is an experienced and highly capable politician, he is a true European. I warmly congratulate and look forward to working with him.

I am pleased that both candidates in the second round of the Presidential elections in Finland favour European integration. It is a signal that Finland is fully engaged Member of the European Union."
