Reactie Buzek op aardbeving in Turkije (en)

The President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek i has sent his condolences and expressed solidarity with the families of the victims of the catastrophic earthquake which hit eastern Turkey this afternoon.

EP President Jerzy Buzek said: "Unfortunately, yet again Turkey has experienced a terrible catastrophe. Our thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones, homes and possessions in this huge natural disaster.

We offer our condolences and words of solidarity to the families of the victims and the Turkish population as a whole. We wish that all those who were injured a full and speedy recovery.

I pay special tribute to the services and rescue workers who are working at the scene. The rising death toll is of great concern. We stand side by side with the Turkish people and authorities".
