EU leaders Sunday indicated they want the IMF to provide new funds for a possible new facility that could buy Spanish and Italian bonds, to beef up the existing €440 billion bail-out fund. Summit conclusions refer to exploring "possible contributions to the IMF from countries with a large external surplus."
