Aandacht voor bedrijfsleven tijdens eerste 'business forum' van het oostelijk partnerschap (en)

Beata Stelmach, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is taking part in the first Eastern Partnership Business Forum in Sopot which on 30th September is accompanying the Eastern Partnership Summit.

The Forum was conceived by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, and its organisers is the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Leviatan and BUSINESSEUROPE. The Forum is being held under the auspices of Poland’s EU Council Presidency.

The purpose of the Forum is to develop and present the recommendations of business communities as for the Eastern Partnership’s development in the economic realm as well as to activate business circles supporting the economic integration of Eastern Partnership countries with the European Union. Forum participants will also have an opportunity to share experiences, establish business contacts and discuss investment possibilities and joint projects by entrepreneurs and governments within the Eastern Partnership framework.

The programme also envisages discussions on financial instruments fostering economic projects within the Eastern Partnership as well as cooperation amongst small and medium-sized enterprises. Taking part in the first Eastern Partnership Business Forum are scores of entrepreneurs from the Eastern Partnership countries, representatives of business organisations, government institutions and EU institutions.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Donald Tusk has confirmed his participation in the Forum, as have the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle and the President of the European Parliament Professor Jerzy Buzek. The countries of the Eastern Partnership are represented by i.a. Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov and Georgia’s Minister of Economy Vera Kobalia.
