PRESS STATEMENT EU facilitated dialogue: Serb delegation not ready to continue the talks today

The EU facilitator for the dialogue foreseen in UN General Assembly Resolution 64/298, Mr Robert Cooper, said:

"The dialogue did not take place because the Serb delegation was not ready to proceed with discussions today.

The situation at the gates in northern Kosovo is not part of the dialogue nor the subject of any separate negotiations with Serbia.

At today's meeting it had been foreseen that we would discuss; energy, telecommunications and Kosovo participation in regional fora. The parties would have also discussed the implementation of previous agreements.

The dialogue will continue when the Serbian side is ready to re-engage. The purpose of the process remains to discuss issues that are aimed at improving lives of people and bringing the parties closer to the EU."
