Statement by the High Representative Catherine Ashton i on a

bomb attack in Ankara

Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the Commission, issued the following statement yesterday:

I am saddened by reports of a bomb attack in Ankara that claimed the lives of three Turkish citizens and injured many more.

I express my sympathy and solidarity with the families of the victims and wish a quick recovery to those injured.

The EU supports Turkey in its fight against terrorism and will continue to work closely with Turkey bilaterally and multilaterally to combat terrorism in all its manifestations and forms.
