Griekenland ontvangt EU-steun voor studies naar aanleg Ionische snelweg (en)
Studies aiming at helping the implementation of a section of the Ionian Highway between the multi-level junction of Egnatia and the town of Kakavia in Greece will receive almost €2 million in EU i contribution under the 2010 TEN i-T Annual Call.
The studies being co-financed by the EU will lead the way to the construction of a four-lane highway section up to Kalpaki and to improvements for the two-lane road up to Kakavia. Once completed, the project will contribute to the completion of a vital north-south infrastructure link on Greece’s Western Axis.
Furthermore the new highway will contribute to the connection of the Ionian Highway, the Egnatia Highway, Igoumenitsa harbour and north-eastern Greece to the developing areas of the north-western Balkans and Albania.
