EP-voorzitter Buzek spreekt afschuw uit over tragedie Noorwegen (en)

The President of the European Parliament made the following statement concerning the massacre at the youth political camp in Utoya island in Norway:

"I am devastated to hear more sad news from Norway. The death toll has increased dramatically. This is an unimaginable tragedy for the families who lost their loved ones, young people at the outset of their adult life, fascinated with public service. It is a terrible tragedy for all of Norway and the world. It's shocking how one can inflict so much evil.

I condemn with the strongest possible means these cowardly attacks on those innocent young people. I sincerely hope that all the perpetrators of are caught and brought to justice.

On behalf of the European Parliament I would like to convey my solidarity and sympathy to the families, the authorities and all Norwegians. We are with you at this tragic hour."
