Verklaring Eurocommissaris Füle na ontmoeting met leider van Turks-Cypriotische gemeenschap (en)

"I reiterated the strong support of the European Commission for the efforts of the leaders of both communities and the United Nations to achieve a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problem, which will bring an end to one of the oldest conflicts on European soil. Mr Eroglu and I discussed the way ahead after last week's tripartite meeting and the importance of reaching agreement on the outstanding core issues by October, and I appealed to the leadership and spirit of compromise required to achieve this outcome", stated Commissioner Füle on 14 July following his meeting with Dervis Eroglu, leader of the Turkish Cypriot community.
