EU-buitenlandchef Ashton veroordeelt gijzeling Esten in Libanon (en)

Catherine Ashton i, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, issued the following statement today: "I condemn the prolonged abduction of seven Estonian citizens, who were seized on 23 March 2011 in Lebanon. The European Union continues to pledge its full support to Estonia and the families of the victims in this difficult situation and offers its full assistance to Estonia to resolve the kidnapping.

I encourage all sides concerned to help in triggering the immediate release of the hostages and in bringing all the perpetrators to justice."
