Zweeds voorzitterschap verwelkomt aanvraag EU-lidmaatschap IJsland (en)
Met dank overgenomen van Zweeds voorzitterschap Europese Unie 2e helft 2009 i, gepubliceerd op donderdag 16 juli 2009.
Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt i on the decision reached today by the Icelandic Parliament to apply for membership of the European Union:
“I welcome the decision of the Icelandic parliament to apply for membership of the European Union. The application will be assessed in accordance with the EU’s established procedures”, states Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt.
