PACE to observe presidential elections in Montenegro

Strasbourg, 03.04.2008 - A three-member delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by David Wilshire (United Kingdom, EDG),will be in Montenegro from 3 to 7 April to observe the presidential elections, alongside observers from the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR).

The delegation will meet the President of the Republic of Montenegro, Filip Vujanovi?, candidates standing for election, officials responsible for organising the elections and media representatives. It will then observe the voting on 6 April at a representative sample of polling stations.

The observers will present their conclusions at a joint press conference at 4.30pm on Monday 7April at the Hotel Crna Gora (Bulevar Sv. Petra Cetinjskog 2, Podgorica).
