Voorzitter EU veroordeelt geweld in Servië (en)

The Presidency condemns in the strongest terms yesterday's violence, particularly attacks against foreign diplomatic missions in Belgrade, which have resulted in damage to embassy premises and have endangered diplomatic personnel as well as lives of citizens.

The Presidency urges again the Serbian authorities to restore order and ensure security of the diplomatic missions according to the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations and to respect previous commitments to refrain from any activities or statements which might endanger the security situation and to ensure the safety and security of the EU citizens and their property. It urges the Serbian Government to express clear and unequivocal condemnation of the violence and to make clear its determination to apprehend the perpetrators and to uphold its international obligations to protect diplomatic premises.
