The European Union thanks the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine for their interventions.

As the European Presidency declared in its statement on 29 September, the European Union welcomes the agreement reached in Odessa on 26-27 September by the representatives of the Republic of Moldova and Transnistria, as well as the mediators from Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE, on the participation as observers of the European Union and the United States in the resolution process in Transnistria. The European Union looks forward to taking part in the next series of negotiations in the ''five plus two'' format.
