Colleagues of Erasmus University Rotterdam at
ISS and RSM are jointly organizing this seminar at the Erasmus Sustainability Hub in Rotterdam. NOTE: The programme has been slightly changed as of 9 April 2015, due to the unavailability of one of the original panelists.
We wish to acknowledge the generous support of the
Leonhard-Woltjer Stichting, which made this event possible. About the seminar
This seminar will explore various dimensions of the Palestinian non-violent struggle for social justice, with reference to Paolo Freire's critical pedagogy of the oppressed. This social justice struggle is vividly illustrated by the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign, which is part of a
global movement, including prominent scholars and cultural figures, such as Judith Butler, Desmond Tutu and Roger Waters.
