Future "Hydrogen highway"
More than 150 experts from 30 European countries and various institutes, companies and organizations participated in the virtual conference of the Consultation Forum for Sustainable Energy in the Defence and Security Sector) on 23 and 24 November 2021, co-organized by the European Defence Agency (EDA) and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia within the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU i.
Conference participants were addressed by State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Uroš Lampret, by Mr. Jiří Šedivý, Chief Executive of the EDA, and by Jerneja Jug Jerše, Head of Commission Representation in the Republic of Slovenia. State Secretary Lampret emphasized that Slovenia dedicates important attention to climate and energy efficiency, which is why this constitutes one of the priorities of the Slovenian Presidency. At the same time, he expressed satisfaction that the Slovenian Armed Forces had introduced hydrogen technology into operational use as early as in 2010.
The destabilizing effects of climate change, such as forced migration, food disruptions, reduced access to resources, water and energy, epidemics and instabilities are some of the major global challenges of today.
