The European Research and Innovation Directories Discussed in Bucharest
In the context of Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Informal Meeting of the Ministers of Research and Innovation of the Member States of the European Union took place at the Palace of Parliament. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Research and Innovation, Nicolae Hurduc. The European Commission was represented by the European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation, Carlos Moedas.
The subject matters aimed at identifying measures to increase and expand scientific excellence at the EU level as well as the scientific cooperation within the Black Sea Basin, and finding ways to increase the degree of capitalization of the potential of scientific collaboration in this area.
„Cohesion is the key word behind the measures taken, during the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, while research and innovation are areas where collaboration and close links between researchers and end-users are essential for achieving performance. Moreover, on the agenda of today’s informal meeting there were two subject matters essentially stating that collaboration is the fundamental element for achieving performance. For example, when we speak about the Black Sea Basin, which is an European area, we must bear in mind that this area should not only be in the attention of the riparian states, as capitalizing on the potential of scientific collaborations in this area would effect on the entire European Union”, stated Mr. Nicolae Hurduc, the Minister of Research and Innovation.
On the occasion of this event, a visit of the Ministers of Research and Innovation of the EU Member States was organized to the „Politehnica” University of Bucharest.
