EU budget 2021-2027: Auditors’ remarks consolidated in a single document
The European Court of Auditors has today issued a new publication summarising the main remarks submitted to the European Parliament and the Council for use when discussing and deciding upon the European Commission’s proposals for the 2021-2027 multiannual financial framework (MFF). The document provides a general overview of what the auditors have said about the proposed MFF as well as their observations on specific policies such as agriculture, cohesion and international cooperation. It also covers cross-cutting aspects, including the rule of law, the fight against fraud and EU accountability.
The auditors focus on the proposed process of setting spending priorities, the flexibility and performance orientation of the EU budget and administrative simplification, as well as audit arrangements.
