Another success of the Romanian Presidency at the EU Council in the Digital field

The Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in the digital field, obtained the partial interim political agreement for the negotiations with the European Parliament on the Digital Europe Programme.

“The Digital Europe Programme is the first European programme that aims to strengthen Europe’s strategic digital capabilities and to provide the necessary investments in key areas such high-performance computers, cyber security, artificial intelligence and digital skills, so that Europe can be competitive worldwide, in the context of highest level technological development“, stated Alexandru Petrescu, Minister of Communications and Information Society of Romania, chairman of the TTE Council in the digital domain.

This is the first dossier from Multi-Annual Financial Framework 2021-2027 which has been partially provisionally agreed, the main objective being to maximize the benefits of digital transformation for the benefit of Europe’s citizens, businesses and administrations.
