Romanian contemporary art exhibition at Hangar Gallery - Mircea Cantor and associated exhibitions: Florica Prevenda & Daniel Djamo
Photo gallery: Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union
The Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU together with the prestigious Hangar Gallery are proud to feature a Romanian contemporary art exhibition, with the extraordinary participation of Mircea Cantor, a leading figure of the contemporary international artworld.
The exhibition displays a series of his highly-acclaimed artworks, some of which will be created especially for the event. Two other prestigious Romanian artists, Florica Prevenda and Daniel Djamo, present their creations in associated exhibitions.
The exhibition was opened in the presence of the artists and featured also the talented versatile musician Adrian Naidin, in a solo recital.
In her speech, the Romanian ambassador to the EU, Luminița Odobescu, mentioned:“The artworks of the Romanian artists brought together in this exhibition are not only a paragon of artistic excellence, but also a reminder of the fact that the Romanian culture is an integral part of the European culture - contributing to its enrichment, while, at the same time, being itself enriched. What better way to confirm Romania’s rightful place in the great European family other than by recalling the highly-acclaimed works of some of Romania’s most cherished contemporary artists?”
The exhibition will be open between 7 February and 4 May 2019.
The exhibition is part of the series of cultural events organized by the Romanian Presidency at the EU Council in Brussels to promote the creations of internationally recognized Romanian creators.
