Minister for European Funds, Rovana Plumb, met in Rome with the Minister for the Regions of Southern Italy, Barbara Lezzi
The two officials discussed about the new programming framework for using European funds during the programming period 2021-2027. Minister Rovana Plumb i presented the perspective and priorities of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union regarding the Cohesion Policy.
In this context, she pointed out that the goal of the Romanian Presidency is to continue the negotiations in a dynamic rhythm, in order to initiate the trialogue with the European Parliament.
The Italian Minister also highlighted the priority areas in which Italy wants to invest in the future, requesting support from the Romanian Presidency for a greater flexibility in the use of funds, so that the European money to better meet the needs of the regions.
The Romanian Minister for the European Funds has initiated a series of bilateral meetings with ministers from the EU Member States in order to obtain support for the consolidation of the Cohesion Policy. It manages the funds that EU member states need to support the competitiveness and to regain regional development gaps.
