Humanitarian aid convoy to Aleppo in Syria

Bratislava (14 December) - The Slovak Republic will dispatch a convoy with humanitarian aid from the logistics base of the Slovak Ministry of Interior in Vajnory on Wednesday (14 December) morning at 8.30 for the citizens of Aleppo afflicted with the ongoing armed conflict in Syria.

The convoy mostly consists of health-care equipment for anesthesiologists, SERVO ventilators and a vital sign monitor (ICARD) from Slovak producer Chirana Stará Turá. Another part of material humanitarian assistance is allocated from the Slovak Interior Ministry´s reserves and consists of sleeping bags, towels, blankets and hospital beds worth more than €27,000, with a part of the aid provided by the Magna Children at Risk non-governmental organization. The total value of the humanitarian cargo for Syria is more than €127,000.

The Slovak assistance will be handed to three hospitals (Bab Al Hawa, Aleppo Agrabat, and Atareb) in Aleppo by the Magna organization.

The humanitarian aid convoy will be seen off by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Lukáš Parízek.
