Irish PM calls elections for 26 February

Irish prime minister Enda Kenny has called an election for 26 February, hoping to secure a second term in office by arguing he can carry on economic recovery after the successful exit from international bailout. His conservative Fine Gael party has a narrow lead in opinion polls.
