On the agenda this week:

  • European Council (19-20 March, Brussels): the European Parliament will debate the Energy Union strategy and the first phase of the European Semester ahead of the summit
  • Boris Nemtsov’s murder: MEPs will debate the assassination of the Russian opposition leader, and a resolution demanding an international inquiry will be put to a vote on Thursday 12 March
  • Anti-terrorism pact: following the terrorist attacks in recent months, the EPP Group is to propose anti-terrorism measures and present its position paper highlighting measures to prevent radicalisation
