“Unlocking the potential of the social economy for EU growth: the Rome strategy

During the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council of 11 December, Minister Poletti presented to his colleagues gathered in Brussels the results of the conference on social economy, which was held on 17 and 18 November 2014 in Rome. The event, which was attended by over six hundred political representatives, government civil servants and members of the scientific community and of civil society, paved the way for the development of a strategy aimed at unlocking the potential of the social economy.
The so-called Rome strategy and its proposals for actions were brought to the attention of the Commission and its President Juncker, with the hope that that they canprovide the basis for launching a new phase of development and economic growth in the European Union.
