Mobility as a prerequisite of cultural initiatives supported by the EU on 11 and 12 November

The international forum on “Mobility in the world for young artists” is held on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 November at Fabbrica del Vapore headquarters in Milan. The event is part of the activities of the Italian six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union and is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, in collaboration Milan municipality.

On Tuesday 11 November, institutions and stakeholders in the sector can exchange views on the issue of young artists’ mobility. The debate focuses on the opportunities which mobility generates for the professional activities of both the artists and cultural professionals, as well as on the sharing of experiences and best practices which creates skills and avoids cultural isolation and the repetition of management models that are not adequate.

The session on Wednesday 12 November is devoted to support instruments and policies for transnational mobility. Supporting mobility means, indeed, investing in cultural understanding and making the cultural and artistic sector more dynamic. Community cultural programmes aim at promoting multilateral mobility and at encouraging transnational circulation of cultural and artistic output, thus favouring the intercultural dialogue.
