The international conference “Rare diseases: Europe’ challenges” takes place at the Chamber of Deputies in Rome on 31 October at 10:00 A.M. This conference is organized by the National Centre for Rare Diseases within the framework of the six-month Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. National and European stakeholders will join the debate on the European orientation on rare diseases, assistance and networks creation. The goals are to share good practices, to identify avenues of transnational cooperation in order to cope with rare diseases and to overcome them.
For a long time, the European Commission has been addressing rare diseases as a priority in public health and scientific research throughout ad-hoc actions. Therefore, all member-states are committed to adopt a national plan.
