Scottish government rejects UK plan to re-negotiate EU treaty

The Scottish government has rejected the UK's plan to renegotiate the EU treaties. In an official paper published Wednesday, external affairs minister Fiona Hyslop said Brussels should reduce 'unnecessary red-tape' and 'competence creep' but dismissed claims that the treaties should be re-opened. Scotland holds a referendum on independence next month.
