Erdogan's Turkey has no place in Europe, says CSU

Following Sunday's election of Erdogan as Turkish President, Germany's ruling coalition CSU party has called for EU accession of Turkey to be finally shelved. “Erdogan i's Turkey has no place in Europe," CSU secretary-general Andreas Scheuer told Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung on Tuesday, citing concerns over suppression of fundamental democratic principles.
