Helpen MKB centraal tijdens EU-handelsmissie naar Peru en Chili (en)
As a concrete follow-up to a successful Mission for Growth to Peru in January this year, DG Enterprise's Director General will lead a technical mission to Peru between 2 and 5 December 2013. Moving to Chile on 6 December, discussions will focus on SMEs, raw materials and tourism.
A business delegation of around 30 entrepreneurs with accompany European Commission Director-General for Enterprise and Industry Daniel Calleja Crespo in order to foster industrial cooperation with Peruvian politicians and entrepreneurs. This Mission's objectives are to promote European business policies and to develop ties between Peruvian and EU companies. It will also initiate discussions with Peruvian Ministers on monitoring the Memoranda of Understanding signed on SMEs, industrial cooperation, raw materials, construction and tourism.
From 2 to 5 December 2013 in Lima, Daniel Calleja will lead the EU's delegation at the 15th General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). Mr Calleja will be key speaker at the UNIDO High Level Forum "Industrial Development as a Sustainable Development Goal" which will be attended by ministers of industry from 172 UN member states. He will also chair a lunch debate for approximately 200 entrepreneurs on the topic of "Industrial Cooperation and SMEs".
On 6 December 2013, Daniel Calleja will be in Santiago de Chile, meeting several ministers to further advance Commission dialogues on SMEs, raw materials and tourism. He will also be the guest of honor at Eurochile's 20th year anniversary reception. During this event, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between Mr José Aravena, Director General of Eurochile and Jean-Noël Durvy, Director General of the Fondation Sophia Antipolis in France and partner of the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP).
