Former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday for taking bribes from two foreign companies in a keenly awaited verdict ahead of Croatia's EU membership next year. Sanader is likely to appeal the sentence, claiming the trial is politically motivated.
