US treasury secretary Timothy Geithner on Monday tried to convince his German counterpart Wolfgang Schauble to buy bonds from indebted eurozone i states, but he failed in this endeavour, Deutsche Welle reports. The meeting took place on the island of Sylt, where Schauble is currently enjoying his summer holiday.
