The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Dr Erato Kozakou- Marcoullis will visit Albania on July 31, 2012, in her capacity as chair of the General Affairs Council of the European Union, responsible for enlargement.
Albania is the fourth country of the Western Balkans that Dr. Marcoullis is visiting, since the start of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU, on July 1.
The tour, which started with visits to Serbia and Montenegro, and continued with the Foreign Affairs Minister’s visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, demonstrates the importance which the Cyprus Presidency attributes to the European perspective of the region.
During her visit to Tirana, Dr Marcoullis will meet with the President, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of Parliament of Albania, and other senior officials. She will also hold talks with her counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania, Dr Edmont Panariti.
Discussions will focus on Albania’s European perspective.
