Deens voorzitterschap betreurt opschorting van samenwerking met Europees Parlement (en)
On behalf of the Danish EU-Presidency the Danish Minister of Justice Morten Bødskov comments on the decision of the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament about suspension of the cooperation with the Council on a few, but important files.
The Danish Minister of Justice Morten Bødskov states:
“The Danish EU Presidency is ready to and wishes on behalf of the Council a good and constructive cooperation with the European Parliament as we have had so far in all areas. A good cooperation is to the benefit of everyone, especially during the present economic crisis. This is what the Presidency has strived for and will continue to strive for.
Therefore, the Presidency finds it unfortunate that the European Parliament today has decided to suspend the cooperation with the Presidency on a few, but important files. This concerns among others the proposal on a European investigation order and the proposal on the exchange of EU Passenger Name Records.
On behalf of the Council the Presidency of course intends to continue the good cooperation in all other areas.”
