Minister-president Thorning-Schmidt ontmoet Van Rompuy (en)

Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt i will meet with the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy i today in Copenhagen. The main themes of the meeting will be the informal meeting of the European Council on 23 May, the meeting of the European Council on 28-29 June and the importance of strengthening growth and promoting employment in the last months of the Danish Presidency of the Council.

Following the meeting the Prime Minister will give a speech at the European Parliament’s and the Commission's “Europe Conference”, which this year is held under the heading "Building the Europe of the Future: Post Crisis Reflections." The focus of the conference is the question of whether the EU i is equipped with the right tools to handle current and future crises and in which direction the EU is moving in. In addition to the Prime Minister, Herman Van Rompuy and Vice President of the European Parliament, Gianni Pittella, will also speak at the conference.
