Europe Day, 9 May, is the last chance to participate in the Danish EU Presidency’s photo competition 'EU Snapshots of Your Life' and win tablets.
Three months ago the Danish EU Presidency launched the photo competition ‘EU Snapshots of Your Life’, and Europe Day, 9 May, is the last chance if you want to participate in the competition for four tablets.
So far, 2,500 contributions from all 27 EU member states have been submitted and more than 12,500 ‘like’ the competition’s Facebook page that allows users to comment on each other's photos.
The competition is primarily aimed at young people but everyone can participate and express their opinions, dreams and thoughts by illustrating how EU and Europe affect their daily lives. On the occasion of Denmark marking Europe Day on 9 May with green events in the EU capitals, the EU Presidency encourages participants to submit green photos from the daily life in the final days of the competition.
A mobile application has been developed for the competition, which can be downloaded freely from Appstore and Androidmarket, and the participants compete in four categories:
-
-Best rated photo
-
-Most artistic and creative photo
-
-Best connection between photo and comment
-
-Funniest photo
The winners in the four categories will be selected in June and invited to attend the opening of the photo exhibition with the 40 best photos from the competition at the Royal Library, the Black Diamond, in Copenhagen on 7 June. Minister for European Affairs Nicolai Wammen will hand over the prizes to the winners.
