Please note: Only the Dutch-language version of the Constitution has legal effect. 

Membership in the Royal House is regulated by law. For instance, the Royal House Membership Act assumes that potential heirs to the throne and their spouses are members of the Royal House. Therefore, if a spouse is involved, consent pursuant to Article 28 must have been granted, as otherwise there is no longer any question of succession to the throne.
