Informal meeting of economic and financial affairs ministers
The informal meeting of economic and financial affairs ministers will take place on 10 and 11 September 2021 in Brdo pri Kranju. The meeting will be chaired by the Slovenian Minister of Finance Andrej Šircelj.
On the first day of the meeting, 10 September, two working sessions will be held. The first working session will cover the regulation of the financial sector and the balance between financial stability and sustainable financing of the economy. In the session, the ministers and governors of the central banks will discuss the ways of mitigating potential risks. The second working session will discuss the options for allocating the IMF’s special drawing rights towards vulnerable countries.
The second day of the meeting, held on 11 September, will also feature two working sessions. At the first working session, the ministers will discuss simulations of fiscal scenarios for ensuring a resilient recovery and sufficient room for future investments. The second working session will be devoted to a discussion on the future of taxation and future tax changes that could ensure greater equality and solidarity between countries.
"I am confident that the discussions held at this meeting will improve actions and relations between countries at both the European and global level," said Minister Šircelj about the upcoming meeting.
