Drawing on a thousand-year history of growing buckwheat, the company Dr. Orel was the first in Slovenia to produce 100% buckwheat beer - Dr. Orel beer. Dr. Orel was the one who came up with the idea to brew gluten-free beer. Since buckwheat is not an established raw material for beer production, they had to radically change the standard technological processes of malting. How they did this, remains a secret. During the Slovenian Presidency, their buckwheat beer will be offered at receptions at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Slovenia to the EU in Brussels.
