Coronavirus: MEPs to debate EU’s response to outbreak
Environment and Public Health MEPs will debate on Monday the Coronavirus outbreak with the Executive Director of the EU Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
The Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety will discuss the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus today at around 16.30, with Andrea Ammon, Executive Director of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
The outbreak of the Coronavirus, which originated in the Chinese city Wuhan, has led WHO to declare a public health emergency of international concern.
The Environment Committee holds an annual exchange of views with the ECDC, a non-regulatory EU agency in charge of gathering and spreading information on communicable diseases within the EU or threatening from outside the EU.
