Catalans protest against independence

About 3,500 Catalans protested on Sunday against independence, police told El Mundo. The regional government has begun the process of breaking away from Spain, after pro-independence parties gained a majority in September elections. But pro-Spanish stress that pro-independence parties did not get a majority of direct votes.
