Austria urges flexible EU deficit rules amid refugee crisis

Austrian finance minister Hans Joerg Schelling has urged the EU to relax its deficit rules towards governments like Germany and Austria that need to boost their spending to house refugees. "Brussels should consider exemptions for such spending under its EU deficit rules," Schelling told German newspaper, Welt am Sonntag.
