Finland accepts refugee quotas on voluntary basis only

Finland will accept 2,400 asylum seekers, as proposed by the European Commission, interior minister Petteri Orpo said at a press conference Friday. But it will not accept a permanent mandatory mechanism. "We can move forward on a voluntary basis, but we cannot proceed under compulsion," foreign minister Timo Soini i said.
